FreightList is an independent directory of providers worth asking about a shipment. It does not sell transport, return live prices or guarantee a lane.
Sources and check dates
Provider identity, coverage, capabilities and contacts come from the provider's own public pages. We write short factual summaries and link each field to its source and the date checked. A check date means the source was read; it is not the date a provider confirmed availability. We do not reproduce third-party reviews or copy directory descriptions.
How the finder works
The finder requires a compatible published shipment mode and coverage evidence for both origin and destination. Exact directional statements rank above broad national or international statements. Offices, headquarters and terminals alone do not prove a direct lane. Country-wide and global claims are candidates for confirmation, not address-level matches. City and postal fields are included in drafts but do not drive an unverified geocoder.
- Website-stated direction: the source establishes the direction represented in the dataset. Confirm today's service.
- Advertised regional coverage: the source describes broader regions rather than your precise addresses.
- Needs route confirmation: global coverage or nondirectional service information requires a route-specific enquiry.
Provider roles and unknowns
Carriers, brokers, forwarders, air/ocean providers and customs brokers have separate labels. A firm can have several roles when its own pages support them. Brokerage alone is not transport. Unpublished dimensions, commodity restrictions, account requirements, hours and residential access remain unknown. Missing facts never become affirmative claims.
Coverage and maintenance
The directory currently contains 475 provider listings. There is no reliable denominator for all relevant providers, so we do not claim a completeness percentage. Review source changes and important quote channels before a refresh; failed fetches do not establish closure. Sources older than 90 days should be reviewed before relying on them. Contact information may change between checks.
Ranking and commercial interests
No paid ranking, sponsorship or ads run on FreightList. Matching sorts by the strength of the represented coverage, then alphabetically. Familiar carriers such as Hi-Way 9 and Grimshaw are established options, not discoveries. We do not rank price, quality or responsiveness without evidence.
Corrections
Submit a correction or provider claim with a provider-owned source. Changes require review. A claim does not automatically grant control or produce a verification badge.
